the end of class

Just in case anyone is still reading these. I wanted to tell every one that is was very interesting see all the different projects. It is great to see different points of view and to receive feedback on your own projects. I always learn more when I read comments left by everyone not only for my projects.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer and I wish everyone well in what every is on your horizon.

The paint bucket tool

This tool lets you change the texture and color on your project. If you click on the paint bucket or go to the tools menu and click on paint bucket it will bring up materials. There will be a drop down menu so you can change the material you are using. If you click on edit you can change the color of the material you are using. I experimented with it and did a lot of playing around. It was fun to see how the different materials mad the object look so different.

Done with Project 4

I am finally done with this project. I really liked working with sketchup. There are so many possibilities. I love the way it lets you see your whole project from every angle. I also really like that you can place it anywhere in google earth. It makes a vision feel real or for some a reality. I had some difficulty trying to get screen shots of my project though. The prt sc was not working for me. I was so lucky to have a fellow classmate give me a pretty cool tip. Joanna told me about the snipping tool. After I tried it I was done with my project in 5 min. Good luck to everyone.

Project 4 headache

I was having fun with sketchup, then I got to the part where you have to do a walk through and put google earth on it. So now I don't like it anymore. I can not get the snap shots to work and I have read every tutorial I can find, and I gave up on google earth for now. If anyone can help I would appreciate.

The picture at the top of my page I took when we lived in Hawaii. We went to the North Shore on Oahu for X-mas eve in 2004. I really miss doing that. Hopefully in about a year we will be back there to stay.

Project 4

OK I was having fun with sketchup until I tried to add google earth. These projects are very time consuming. What I mean is you get started and there is only so much you can do by playing with it the rest you have to research. If you are like me you have to keep the tutorials in one window and keep referring to them, the problem I find is that it doesn't tell me everything. Then I just want to throw the whole thing across the room. I do like learning new things but without all the info or help I am going to go bald. Just needed to vent a little. I am probably the only one having problems.

I thought I would also share a drawing that I did for my sons baseball coach from a picture I took . I have included both the picture and the drawing. We gave it to him as a special gift. I like to do things like this because it really means something and holds many memories.

This site has some really neat stuff. I remember in the 80's Vogue magazines there was a watch company that used this kind of art to advertise. It may have been Rolex but I am not 100% about this though. I remember always being fascinated by this. ImUusual.com/Unusual Body Art http://www.myunusual.com/downloads/Unusual_Body_ArtC.html

web site to check out

I am posting a web site of a gallery near my home town I like to support local artists. Plus they have some pretty cool stuff. This place gives artists a place to work and gather with other artists. If you read the about part it will explain more.

Project 4

I have just downloaded google sketchup. This is a really cool program. I have only just started playing around with it but WOW. I am not sure how my project will turn out but I do feel that it is more user friendly than our last project. Also I think that I don't have to study Japanese anymore I have more time to devote to this project.

Well I have not been very good at keeping up with this. I have felt a little overwhelmed. This class has been moving pretty fast and by the time I get a project figured out it is due. So I have forgotten about the whole blog thing. I haven't had time to look at different sites on the web so I have not got anything new to suggest. I was also taking Japanese, I likes the class but I should have only taken this class then I could have been more focused. I have enjoyed looking at every ones projects. The different points of view are interesting.
I hope everyone has a HAPPY 4th

I am trying.

Well I have never had a blog before, so this is all new to me. I have a hard time opening up about myself. But I am going to try. I have decided to go back to school after many years. I decided to go for a graphic design certificate, it was something I decided would be the direction for me. I have also decided to take a Japanese class this summer also.

We will be moving back to HI in about 1.5 years and as I learned last time we were there it would have been really helpful to know this language.

I have also learned that I am feeling a little overwhelmed. Japanese is hard and I feel like I am the slowest in the class, also trying to figure out the non user friendly AI is very time consuming.

My family has been very supportive in my new venture but I sometimes feel guilty that I can't spend as much time with them right now. I am putting a couple of pictures of my kids. I make almost all their Halloween costumes. My daughter is dressed up as Cindy Lou Who from 06, the next one's is from 08, my daughter is dressed up as the Madd Hatter and my son as Indiana Jones. They almost always win prizes in costume contests.

I also wanted to post a site that one of my friends made, she is really into art and she has some pretty cool stuff on it. http://nicoleburch.com/

Also here is another pretty cool online art mag site. http://www.plasticwater.us/

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

By the way the picture in the top right of the Vegas sign is an acrylic that I made in my last art class.

Well back to homework.
